The premiere of the new model is scheduled for March 18.
In terms of technology and design, the new model will be similar to the BMW iX3 electric crossover, unveiled in September 2025.
The new BMW i3 features a new signature grille design. The signature daytime running lights are reminiscent of BMW's former four-headlight design. The unusual, complex pattern of the alloy wheels is also striking.
The profile and rear end are more conventional, a style already familiar from previous models. The Hofmeister kink and recessed door handles with a lower grip are present.
The interior features a four-spoke steering wheel with a flat rim and a trapezoid-shaped central multimedia screen. The separate instrument cluster has been replaced by a curved Panoramic iDrive display, occupying the entire lower section of the windshield.
The i3 sedan is expected to be a near-exact copy of the iX3 crossover, the first member of the Neue Klasse family. It will feature an 800-volt architecture, a range of over 800 kilometers on a single charge, and four "superbrains" serving as computing modules for all vehicle systems.
The model will be offered in versions with varying numbers of electric motors, and will also feature a super-powerful M version.
